I'm still reading "Strengthening the Soul of Your Leadership".
Here's a little something that nailed me this morning.
"Earth's crammed with heaven,
and every common bush afire with God;
but only he who sees takes off his shoes-
the rest sit around it and pluck blueberries"
Elizabeth Barrett Browning
I don't want to run so fast that I miss the presence of God all around me. Blueberries are good, but not that good.
I'm with you. I often wonder about the Martha/Mary debate.... Is it a better choice to choose worship, sure,,,,but then there is also work to be done. God's glory is manifested everywhere,,,and while I value a life of worship,,,I cant sit around all day and do just that. If we are truly doing all things as unto the Lord, I guess the worship comes with the work. Of course we labor all the days of our lives because sin entered the world.
ReplyDeleteI guess it depends on how you define worship, which could simply mean that when I am doing the work, or the busy things, and the things I don't like,,, its really just my bad attitude that gets in the way of me glorifing God.
I don't even like Blueberries.
